The fibrinolytic treatment of acute ischaemic stroke is restricted to specialist centres with adequate resources and appropriate expertise and in accordance with detailed protocols. The thrombolytic treatment of occluded central venous access devices including those used for haemodialysisis restricted to second line use after urokinase.
