Primary care education evening on chest pain management

The Heart MCN is planning to run primary care education evening in November, focusing on the management of chest pain and acute coronary syndromes, GRASP-AF audit and the use of NOACs.  Further details will be made available over the next few weeks.

GRASP-AF audit support

The GRASP-AF primary care audit tool is used in primary care to help GPs assess the effective management of atrial fibrillation (AF) and the risk of AF-related stroke in patients. It is licensed for use in NHSGGC up until March 2016, and there are plans to carry out two more audit runs and produce progress reports in October 15 and March 16. The MCN is working with the British Heart Foundation practice development coordinator and NHSGGC pharmacy to train a number of pharmacy technicians to attend participating practices on request to run the GRASP-AF tool and provide a list of patients with AF who may need a review of antithrombotic therapy.  Further details about how to access this resource will be announced shortly.
