The Diabetes Managed Clinical Network is reviewing the place in therapy of diabetes for these products. Until there is an agreed local policy, standard strength insulin from the Formulary should be used in line with the current GGC guidelines
The new guidelines for the diagnosis of diabetes have been recently revised and are available on Staffnet.
The MCN will be running a diabetes training course aimed at providing a comprehensive overview of diabetes management to non-specialists in primary and secondary care. The course will take place on 11 / 12 November in the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. Topics will include: Diabetes complications and cardiovascular risk management; Diabetic Emergencies and a Case Study review.
