Adult Therapeutics Handbook: Content Update Nov 2017

The Therapeutics Handbook content has now been updated and includes the following main changes:

Drug Overdose and Toxicity - changes to the Treatment of Paracetamol Overdose Guidance including information on dose and infusion rate of acetylcysteine if continued beyond 21 hours.

Gastrointestinal System - changes to the Management of Severe Exacerbation of Inflammatory Bowel Disease guidance including updated information on NHSGGC preferred mesalazine brands.

Central Nervous System - changes to the Management of Drug Misusers in Hospital guideline which has been updated in line with the revised Guidelines on the Management of Problematic Drug Users in Glasgow and Clyde Acute Hospitals.

Other minor updates have also been made to guidance on Management of Depression, Management of Arthritis and Preparation of Intravenous Medicines and users are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the sections and guidelines relevant to their area of practice.
